Our commitment is to ensure every student — at every grade level from Pre-K through Grade 12 — has access to a robust, research-based literacy program and the supports necessary to succeed.

All students read proficiently by the end of third grade and continue to advance with confidence through secondary school.

Literacy is not just about “reading the words” but comprehending, analyzing, and using texts across disciplines (ELA, science, social studies, CTE).

Instruction is explicitly grounded in the “science of reading” (evidence-based practices), and our processes intentionally dismantle equity barriers so that marginalized learners (ELLs, students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students) are not left behind.

Families, educators, and community stakeholders partner to create a culture of literacy both in and out of school.
 
What This Means for Families & Students

Students receive dedicated daily literacy instruction at every grade level with differentiated supports for those who need additional attention.

Assessment data drives instruction: you will receive regular updates on your child’s reading progress and what interventions (if any) are being used.
 - 
Families can access tools and resources (reading lists, home-literacy strategies, digital library access) to support reading growth at home.
 - 
If your child is identified as needing extra support, we will collaborate with you to develop a tailored literacy plan and monitor progress until benchmarks are met.
 - 
We ask that families ensure access to reading time at home (including family reading, discussion, and independent reading) and communicate with teachers about literacy goals and concerns.
