Dear MCHS School Community,

Today, Monday, December 1, 2020, school administrators were notified of a possible gun in a vehicle parked on campus.  Staff reacted promptly in partnership with local law enforcement and searched the vehicle.  Upon conducting the search of the vehicle, a gun was discovered and immediately confiscated by local enforcement.  Florida law prohibits the possession of any firearm on school grounds.  Our school board approved discipline matrix was enforced and the student was removed from campus immediately.  We would like to thank local law enforcement for partnering with us on making safety our top priority at our school.

Sincerely,

Charles S. Finley

Principal
